Introduction to the Performance of Glass Curtain Walls

2025-10-28

Introduction to the performance of glass curtain walls? Glass curtain wall is a new type of wall in contemporary times, which endows buildings with the greatest feature of organically unifying factors such as architectural aesthetics, building functions, building energy efficiency, and building structure. Buildings present different color tones from different angles, giving people dynamic beauty with changes in sunlight, moonlight, and lighting. Buildings should follow the provisions of GBJ12-86 "Unified Standard for Modular Coordination of Buildings", and the horizontal expansion modulus of building curtain walls should be increased from 900mm to a maximum size of 6000mm by one module.

Performance requirements for glass curtain walls

1. The performance requirements should be selected based on factors such as the location of the building, climate conditions, building shape, height, surrounding environment, and the importance of the building, and should be consistent with GB/T15225 "Classification of Physical Properties of Building Curtain Walls".

2. The geography, climate, environment, and surrounding buildings of the building's location should be clearly defined. Clearly define the category, shape, height, and location of the curtain wall of the building in the form of text and graphics.

3. Propose various performance requirements for curtain walls based on technical parameters ranging from 1 to 20.

4. The film thickness of aluminum alloy profiles should comply with the regulations in the "Metal Coating System".

5. The surface of steel should undergo anti-corrosion treatment. When hot-dip galvanizing is used, the film thickness should be greater than 45 μ m; When using electrostatic spraying, the film thickness should be greater than 40 μ m.

6. Insulation measures should be taken between different metal materials to prevent electrochemical corrosion between heterogeneous metals.
